Every investor says you should have no priors, but boy have I yet to meet one that doesn’t have one.. It’s really freaking hard. If you pitched me a real estate startup, I can speedrun 15 different ways why this fails. And that’s not really helpful to the founder since I’m not believing in the one reason why it’ll be successful. This is why naivety (cough optimism cough) is a virtue on both sides of the aisle. And finding someone who believes in your conviction is worth its weight in gold.
